Do you need the LORAC PRO Palette? If you have eyes, the answer is YES!

There are approximately 82 billion eyeshadow palettes. Deciding which one(s) to add to your collection can be a little overwhelming, especially during the holidays when it seems like every brand releases two or three at a time!  One palette that I would consider a must-have?  The LORAC PRO Palette, $42.00 USD!
The palette contains 16 eyeshadows, broken down into 8 pans of mattes and 8 pans of shimmer, and a mini Behind the Scenes Eye Primer.  The quality of these shadows is phenomenal!  Every single shade delivers consistent color payoff and an extremely smooth, velvety texture.  As an Urban Decay eyeshadow devotee, I would go as far as saying these are absolutely on par with UD!  Mattes can be tricky, but apparently not for LORAC; every matte shade is creamy, dreamy perfection.  The shimmer shades are also excellent.  Not a spot of patchiness or sheerness to be found.  Quality-wise, these shadows are the cream of the crop!
I always apply eyeshadow over a primer, and using the included Behind the Scenes Eye Primer, these shadows last from dawn til dusk on my oily lids without creasing, fading, migrating, or otherwise doing the Macarena.
Another point for the LORAC PRO?  It's not limited edition!  So you don't have to go into a fit of panic to buy it if you're running a bit low on funds after the barrage of holiday releases and Friends & Family sales!  However, if this palette's been on your wish list for awhile, there's no time like the present to pick it up at a discount at one of the numerous F&F sales happening now.  I purchased mine as part of an ULTA-exclusive kit called the Rockin' Red Hot Set.  It retails for $39.00 USD and contains the LORAC PRO Palette, a mini Behind the Scenes Eye Primer, and a Front of the Line PRO Liquid Eyeliner.  The palette regularly retails for $42.00 USD and does not contain the eyeliner, so this is a great deal!
The palette is also available at Sephora for $42.00, though it's currently out of stock on their website due to the 20% off F&F sale (ending today, 11/11/13). You can probably find it at your local Sephora store but I'd suggest calling first to make sure they have it!

Beauty.com also carries the LORAC PRO Palette but it's also out of stock currently and won't ship for 1-2 weeks. Beauty.com is also hot and heavy into a 20% off F&F sale (ends 11/16/13) which explains why this palette's sold out like hot cakes!

Not taking the mini primer into consideration, if you divide the palette cost ($42.00 USD) by 16, it breaks down to about $2.63 per shadow.  Considering that you also get an eye primer, each shadow costs even less.  This is an incredible value!

I made a little swatch video so everyone can see the swatches "live"!

The LORAC PRO Palette is an absolute gem, and a must-have for anyone with eyes.  ;)

My Rating: A+
Cost: $42.00 USD (Rockin' Red Hot Set available exclusively at ULTA is $39.00 USD)
Where to Buy: Beauty.com, LORAC, Sephora, ULTA

Do you love the LORAC PRO?  Have you cleaned up at any of the F&F sales?

  2. I was back and forth on this palette and wound up going with Naked 2 instead. I think Lorac Pro is absolutely gorgeous, but contains too many shades I wouldn't wear on a regular basis. I have a feeling it will look awesome with your eye color though! I was proud of myself and my original trip to Sephora for the VIB sale. But then I made a second order today. So help me. And I did take part in the Ulta Sale. Originally I bought a TON of stuff, but felt so badly about it that I returned half of it only 4 hours later. Yep. I clearly have a problem.

  3. I keep eyeing this one, but Lorac is unavailable in my part of the world, and I just don't reach for big palettes often enough! Glad to hear you snatched this up at such a great price! I heard the Lorac primer is pretty cool!

  4. Naked2 is another palette on my favorites list, fo sho! I'm pretty pumped for Naked3 since it appears to have more pink-based shades, which is great news for this pink-toned makeup-loving fool! 20% off is pretty difficult to resist, so I totally feel your two Sephora orders, lol! I participated in Beauty.com's 20% F&F sale the other day because they carried a few NARS items Sephora doesn't (like the Loose Powder) and I was really impressed with their selection of brands and products! I've never shopped there before but I will definitely be back. :) F&F sales are such a great chance to pick up gifts for people at a discount, too! YAY!

  6. It's SO good! I mean, it's seriously a palette I would gift to anyone who likes makeup because the shadows are the bomb! I hate that it's not available there! I also just heard from a British friend that she can't get ahold of it in England, either. :\ The size of this palette appeals to me because it's comprehensive but thin; it could definitely fit into a travel bag with ease. I think the biggest palette I own is the Urban Decay Book of Shadows 4 and it's obnoxiously large! The shadows are in a DRAWER. As soon as I have the patience to depot it, it's going into a Z-palette! :)

  7. Lorac isn't even available on any websites that ship internationally, so as far as I know, only those who reside in North America have access to it! I have the UD 15th anniversary palette, and even that is waaay to large to travel with!

  8. Dang it! I am really surprised about the availability being so small! If you ever decide that you do want this palette, I may know someone who lives in the US who'd be willing to send it to you! :) The UD 15th Anniversary palette is gorgeous but you're right, how on earth do you travel with it?! It's like a large book! I think I'm forever ruined by UD Naked - I just love that size when it comes to palettes.

  9. I LOVE how you say there are 82 billion eye shadows like it's a pure fact =D haha
I am debating between this palette and the Laura Mercier Artist Palette. They both look amazing, and the Lorac Pro definitely has its perks. Gorgeous palette!!! I have both the Naked ones so far but I am far from done!! :)

  10. Ha ha! Yes, I definitely researched that figure! ;) I like the LM Artist's Palette, but several shades I'd hoped were full coverage (African Violet, especially!) were more of a sheer "glaze" finish and only show up applied wet. The mattes are really amazing, though! If I had to choose between them, I would pick the LORAC PRO, because every shade is pigment-tastic (totally a real word). Good luck in your palette hunt! :)

  11. Award for best blog post title ever? Pretty much! ;) I don't know what it is but I am sooooo hesitant to buy this. I'm like afraid that I'll get it, never use it and feel like I'm wasting perfectly good shadows (I have quite a few of those 82 billion palettes you mentioned) and with UD's Naked 3 coming out soon, I'm just so torn and confused - wah!!! lol

  18. Oh I don't know, MichWich! I think it's a strong contender in the need category. Or perhaps the "Santa" category? ;)

  21. Ha ha! I still think this is a great palette to have, even with 82 billion others. Even with Naked 3 coming out, I still think having this palette wouldn't be ridic. It's got so many great staples and the shimmers are just beautiful!

Btw, how clutch was @Sarah @ OneStarryNight for giving the head's up on the N3 palette being up on the site?! Had I not seen that, I would have missed out! I didn't get my email from UD until 30 minutes after I bought the palette, and by then it was sold out! SARAH RULES!!
